New association member Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, IRCELYON

We are pleased to welcome the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Institute for Research on Catalysis and the Environment of Lyon (IRCELYON) as the newest member of the bloxberg Association: Welcome IRCELYON!

IRCELYON is a joint research unit of CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research) and the University of Lyon 1. Established in 1958, it has grown to become the largest laboratory in heterogeneous catalysis in France and Europe, with more than 170 persons: Permanent staff and PhD students, post-docs, and guest researchers from over 30 countries. Focused on sustainable development, IRCELYON’s research areas include energy, environment, and green chemistry.
Emmanuel Landrivon will drive the challenge of implementing blockchain with two main objectives: the first is to improve the transparency, integrity and security of data in scientific research. “Blockchain technology will be used to achieve this objective by creating a fully distributed immutable ledger of scientific experiments, protecting the provenance of research data, and implementing the Open Science Chain. The second objective is to use blockchain in the instrumental architecture of the catalytic test benches. Important events can be tracked with the blockchain; it will provide information with high reliability to the end user”, says Landrivon.

The incorporation of the Institute for Research on Catalysis and the Environment of Lyon (IRCELYON) into the bloxberg Association represents a significant stride in fostering transparency, security, and the integrity of scientific research. IRCELYON’s steadfast commitment to sustainable development harmonizes seamlessly with the potential of blockchain technology in fortifying the credibility and reliability of research data.
