Luis Carro
Luis Carro is a Full Professor in educational research methods and diagnostics (MIDE) at the University of Valladolid, where he also earned his PhD. For 15 years, he has served as the Associate Dean for International Relations in the Faculty of Education and Social Work. He has been involved in the Erasmus program for over 30 years, totaling 34 years of contribution. Luis leads the Recognized Research Group on Professional Qualifications, Employability, and Social Entrepreneurship and has directed the Observatory for the Validation of Professional Competencies (OBSERVAL) since 2008. He has collaborated with the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) since 2016, notably contributing to the European Inventory on Validation from 2016 to 2018, and is a member of CareersNET, Cedefop’s expert network for lifelong guidance and career development, since 2017. Luis has international experience as a visiting and guest professor at over 20 universities in Europe and America. His research focuses on lifelong learning, particularly in developing a transversal competencies framework for human development and recognizing non-formal and informal prior learning. He also founded Qualificalia Analytics, a spin-off of the University of Valladolid that focuses on transversal competencies and microcredentials.
